January 2008
Here's what I've been up to:
Working with relocated
executives and their families
I get to work with great people from Mexico, France, Colombia, Germany,
Peru, Oman, Ecuador, and Venezuela, and I don't even have to look for
a parking space at the airport :-)
Training for Literacy
Advance
I still enjoy training pre-service ESL and ABE tutors for Literacy
Advance of Houston.
Volunteering with
Bunny Buddies
Taking care of the Bunny
Buddies web site is very rewarding, as is being a foster family. You
can meet our current foster bun on Bunny Buddies' PetFinder
web site.
Being a
mom
Of course, that's always a joy :-)
Taking care of the
Horn PTO web site
This is our fourth year to volunteer as webmasters for the Horn
Academy PTO. We're proud to be a part of this dedicated group of parents
and teachers.
Practicing my calligraphy
I'm thrilled (and terrified) to be leading the Houston
Calligraphy Guild's annual summer study group this June, July, and
August.
Editing the AAUW
West Harris County Branch newsletter
Keeping up with Houston's most dynamic AAUW branch is no easy task, but
thanks to a wonderful group of contributors and proofreaders, I'm managing
to help AAUW-WHC's
200+ members stay informed.
Helping to revitalize
the AAUW Houston Branch
Closer to home, I'm excited about seeing the AAUW
Houston Branch grow and thrive.
Rebuilding the AAUW
Texas web site
After many delays, it looks like we're finally starting to see the train
at the end of the tunnel!
Taking it easy with
EYH
After chairing and co-chairing Houston's Expanding
Your Horizons in Science and Mathematics™ conference for two years,
it's nice to just do odd jobs again this year.
So, as you can see, I've been doing everything
but updating my own web site :-) How about you? Drop us a line and let
us know what you're up to.
